My pastor taught a sermon yesterday called, "Who Told You That"? And that is my inspiration for writing this today.
So many of us have been told by someone in our lives that we won't amount to anything, that we will always be a loser, that we won't be successful in life because we don't know the right people, or have enough money or whatever. The truth is that whether you were told this by your teacher, boss, mother, father, uncle, aunt, brother, sister, guidance counselor, pastor or priest, if God didn't say it, IT IS PROBABLY NOT TRUE!!
You see we can be anything we desire if we start believing God's word over everyone else's. There is no authority higher than God and because of that we have the right and the power to be whoever God says we can be. Who did He say we can be?
Jeremiah 1:5 says, “ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
1 John 5:4-5 says, "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our[a] faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"
There are many scriptures in the bible where God is defining who we are. The challenge now is whether you're going to believe God's word over man. When you believe God you open up unlimited possibilities for your life. When you believe God you are able to become the very best that God has for you. When you believe God you become heir to the promises of Abraham. When you believe God you will become more than a conqueror!
Believing God's will for your life causes you to become more than just another person. It allows you to become a change effector or a change agent. You no longer are bound by the limitations that man puts on you and you will become finally the man or woman God intended you to be from before the beginnings of the world!
Who will you believe?
God bless you!
